188/365 - Jim - Whole World In His Eyes

( f/2.2 50mm 1/100 sec ISO 200 Nikon D300 )
It may be subtle from the small image, but I put the Earth over top of Nolan's eyes. I was just taking some snapshots today with my 50mm f/1.8 and trying to get some sharp eyes and very shallow depth of field. Using this lens reminded me how well it works in low light, so I'll probably try to use it more for snapshots.

003/365 - Jim - Kubota

( f/4 50mm 1/200 sec ISO 100 Nikon D300 )

Theme was "Shallow DOF" and I wasn't sure what to do for this. So many possibilities but I ended up grabbing one of Jameson's new toys that his Pap gave him. It took about an hour for Jameson to break it. He snapped a pin in one of the arm joints. I put a toothpick in there temporarily for this picture. The vignette was added in Lightroom to draw your attention inward even further.
