221/365 - Jim - Message in a Bottle

It was getting pretty late and I hadn't taken any photos. That is when I just look around and pick something up to photograph... I grabbed two light bulbs and a cap and set them down, then my brain came up with this. Get it? If not, watch this.

My downstairs bathroom is in need of some updating. This is the light over the sink. It's like something out of the 70's or the person that installed it liked Tron a lot. On the other hand, I kind of like it in an odd way. It is interesting to look at...

020/365 - Jim - Light Without Power

For this shot, I attached the light bulb on a tripod and put a snooted flash directly behind the it. Then another flash below and to the left with a grid on it and one more flash to the right with a softbox. I turned the power up on the snooted flash until it was blown out enough to cover up the reflections from the other two flashes. It's not all that impressive, but it is something I have been wanting to try. I should have tried a green gel for a "Go Green" theme.
