351/365 - Jim - 9 Months Old

( f/4.5 50mm 1/125 sec ISO 200 Nikon D300 )
Today Nolan is 9 months old. He has 2 brand new teeth and is super active. Probably within the month he will be walking. I tried something new today and brought a studio flash outside with a large softbox. The sun was already setting, so the background was pretty dark. I liked the results, so maybe I'll have to get a battery pack someday.

( f/2.8 ISO 200 Nikon D300 )

I sat down and got real low to take a photo of the bubble. Just as I had focus and hit the shutter, the camera was jammed into my face with toddler force. Jameson must not have wanted me to photograph the bubble, because he ran full force toward me to pop the bubble and then continued on into me and my camera. It knocked me back and Jameson went to the ground. He didn't enjoy going inside for a timeout after that...

231/365 - Jim - Long Day

( f/11 24mm 1/80 sec ISO 200 Nikon D300 )
I walked out into the backyard today and noticed how long my shadow was, so I started taking some photos of it. The late day light was perfect for portraits. I did take some but thought this photo was the most interesting of the day. I look like one of those stilted men at the circus or a parade.

186/365 - Jim - April Showers

( f/11 70mm 1/20 sec ISO 200 Nikon D300 )
This sums up the whole day, but I can't forget to mention the wind. As I'm writing this, I can hear the wind blowing strong just as it has done all day long. I tried to go out and get a good raindrop photo, but just got wet. The background of this photo is my front yard. Just a month until May flowers...
