Today I spent the whole day playing in a golf scramble. Our team wasn't the best, so we ended up +3. We did however eagle a par 4 to take the only skin , so it was a successful day. I was out so late and didn't have a photo, so I ended up taking some with my 3mp camera phone just in case. I got home before midnight, so I quickly took this shot because I don't have a data plan and it would have cost me to send the photos to my email.

Can you guess what this is? After watching a two hour Lost I had to find something to photograph, so looked around the house until I found this. I'm thinking this one might be too easy, but who knows...

168/365 - Jim - Golf Is Around the Corner

It's just about time to start golfing. For this photo I put a tee in a cardboard box and put the ball on top. The background is a sky that I painted. The grass is just green rope that I frayed at the end. I took this with my 105mm macro lens at only f/5. This wasn't even close to the right aperture. I should have been at f/11 to f/22 because this lens has an extremely short depth of field even at lower apertures. On the camera it looked ok, but on the computer I found out how blurry it was. Oh well, I learned another lesson.

Does anyone know what this is? My wife suggested I photograph this tonight. It's probably not that difficult to figure out if you've ever cut it this way, but I'll bet a lot of people have not. So take a guess in the comments.

This is another game that I love to play, but never do. About 11 years ago I was playing after work at least weekly with a guy I worked with. I miss those days. For practice I would just throw for bulls eye and get mad if I didn't hit at least 1 of 3. I also practiced playing 201 and would be mad if I went over so many rounds. I had so much time back then... I think I will challenge myself to get some people together and play over the next week or two. See if I've still "got it."

Yes, followers, there is a message. Go ahead and see if you can find it. It isn't very difficult. I probably should have mixed it up so it was more difficult and made it into a little game, but maybe next time. I used my fisheye lens on a tripod with the arm extended straight over top of the board. Then I cropped the image square and adjusted the colors just a little bit. If you are bored, you can comment with a list of words you can find within a minute :)
