Theme is macro guess. This is a game where I take an extreme close up photo and you guess what it is. Post a comment if you think you know what it is. When or if someone gets it right, I will post it in the comments. If I get a good response, I will do this more often. Good luck!

I have no guess still and I saw even more of the picture earlier. Kind of looks like part of a game board, mancala or something, but we don't have that...
It is the end of something that is layered. Maybe ceiling tile.

Your pictures are too hard. You need to put easier ones on so we don't get discouraged and give up and give you a hate it rating.

Heather got it! It is one of the quick letter tabs of a dictionary.
this mark was undoubtedly made by some kind of plunge router in the clamped end of the dictionary. i didn't guess that it was a dictionary. the sagging pages should have been a clue for me.
