052/365 - Jim - Combination Square

( f/11 130mm 1/125 sec ISO 200 Nikon D300 )
Theme is square. Sure I could have just took a picture of something in a square shape, but this mixes it up a little. I used a clamp to hold up the square and applied a preset in Lightroom to make it look old. Very simple...

Well it's a neat picture even if it was simple. I hope it feels good to have the day's picture posted so early!

as an architect, i really appreciate this foto. my combination square is looking quite old; give yourself some years and you won't have to do any special tricks to make your photo subject look old.

amending my earlier comment, i was building some houses on a hill above ambridge pennsylvania with some others, when the supervisor's son stole the scribing pin that was very neatly stored on my combination square. it happened more than thirty years ago, but i still remember.

wow, I didn't realize or even think about that being a scribing pin in there... reminds me of the time I picked up my friend's Swiss Army knife and pulled out the toothpick and tweezers after a minute of seeing it, but my friend never knew they were there after having the knife for a year.
